An outline of the proposed presentation, “The Valuation of Mineral Projects” is provided below by Mike Leggo:
The topics that will be covered are: • Why are valuations required? • How are valuations carried out? • Who does a valuation? • What are the roles of Valuers and Technical Appraisers? • Is this a career option? • What is AIMVA?
There will be two presenters:
John McIntyre
BE (Mining) Hons, Member AIMVA (Certified Mineral Valuer), FAusIMM, CP (Mining), MMICA.
John is the Chairman of AIMVA. He is the Managing Director of Behre Dolbear Australia. John is a mining engineer and certified Mine Manager in NSW and Queensland, with more than 40 years of experience in the management, operation and design of mines, including underground base and precious metals, surface hard-rock and coal and alluvial operations. He has led projects in Australia, New Zealand, West Africa, PNG, the Philippines, Vietnam and North America and has prepared management reviews, technical audits, economic evaluation, mine design and feasibility studies for new and existing operations.
Robert (Bob) Adamson
BSc, MSc(GeolHons1), Member AIMVA (Certified Mineral Valuer), MAusIMM, CP (Geo), MMICA.
Bob is the Treasurer of AIMVA. Bob is an economic geologist with almost 50 years of experience. Over the last 20 years he has been a Sydney-based independent consultant practice which providing services in economic geology. His clients include stock exchange-listed companies, merchant banks and private investors for whom he has authored (individually and as an associate) a wide range of independent technical reports addressing a diverse range of issues in regard to exploration prospectivity and the geological bases of mineral resource estimates. More recently, he has carried out a number of mineral asset valuations relating to exploration properties and also has provided specialist services for the valuation of mining operations.
