Paul A. Riddell
1922 – 2003

Paul Riddell passed away in the good company of loved ones on August 3rd 2003. In his own words, Paul “had a good long life with at least his share of adventures and affection.” The stories of Paul’s life travels have inspired his family and friends to live each day to the fullest.

He flew a P-38 during World War II to protect the Panama Canal. After obtaining a degree in Geological Engineering from Michigan School of Mines he paddled a canoe from Lake Michigan to Hudson Bay.

He was married to Alice Lund in December of 1950. They had two sons and a daughter.
Later in life he married his loving wife Jackie on March 18th, 1972. Together they left for Sydney, Australia where Paul explored the South Pacific for mineral deposits.

The years in Australia were fun and exciting filled with lots of travel to many exotic destinations.

When Paul and Jackie returned to the States they settled in Sandy, Utah. They loved to entertain, always opening up their home to guests. Together they golfed and continued to travel.

Paul missed Jackie greatly after she passed away in November of 2001, and has now gone to join her on the back nine.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife Jackie and brother Joseph. Survived by his sister Jane; his children Jeff and Steve Riddell,and Pamela Sussman; step-children Lane Willie and Trish McCabe; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on August 7th, 11a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, where family and friends may call 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be sent to The Northern Utah Parkinson’s Support Group c/o Gordon Berggren; 3215 East Kennedy Dr.; Salt Lake City, Utah 84108.
