TOPIC: “The Adelong Gold Field – A Brief History in Time”
The presentation will provide an update on exploration in the Adelong Goldfield and cover such topics as: mining history; geology and mineralisation; exploration and development history; current resources and prospects; and recent developments.
Mr. David Hobby is Exploration Manager for Adelong Consolidated Gold Mines NL. David graduated with a B.App. Sci in Geology from the Canberra College of Advanced Education in 1989. Since then he has worked predominantly in mine based gold and base metals exploration in NSW (southern LFB), WA (Kalgoorlie-Meekatharra) and Tasmania (Rosebery). David has also had stints in open pit-underground production, and resource generation rolls.
David is a self confessed gold ‘bug’. His geological interests include gold and base metals exploration and ore genesis, mine geology and it’s interface with exploration, mineral economics, the world gold mining industry and mining history.
