VENUE: Rugby Club, Crane Place, Sydney
SPEAKERS: Dr Daniel Guibal and Dr Henri Sanguinetti – GEOVAL
TOPIC: “The Application of Geostatistics to Small Vein Deposits”
Recently developed geostatistical techniques for estimating complex small vein deposits will be discussed using the examples of a gold and a uranium deposit. The application of the classical 2-D approach using thicknesses and accumulations will be discussed. The simultaneous estimation (co-kriging) of these two variables for several cut-off grades will be considered together with dilution factors. The validity and limitations of this method for both underground and open-pit mining will be assessed.
