DATE: Thursday March 13, 1980, at 4.30 pm.
VENUE: 1st Floor, Rugby Club, Crane Place, Sydney
SPEAKER: Murray W. Hitzman, Stanford University, California.
TOPIC: “Ruby Creek Copper Deposit, Alaska”
Ruby Creek is a copper deposit within a dolomitic sequence which has Mississippi Valley type affinities. It occurs within the Ambler District of Northern Alaska, where other known deposits are volcanogenic in character. Recent work by Hitzman suggests a hitherto unrecognised alteration and mineral zoning which has particular significance for further exploration.
