TOPIC: “Practical Use of Micro-computer Software for Mine Planning, Grade Control & Surveying in an Operating Mine Environment”
Jim’s most recent assignment has been the implementation of a micro-computer system to support daily grade control operations at the Similco Mine. This is a large open pit operation characterised by disseminated low grade mineralization intersected by barren dykes with numerous backfilled stopes containing ore grade material. Jim will discuss the special demands placed on the ore-control system by this special geological setting. The talk will be illustrated by numerous slides.
