Alkane is a multi commodity explorer and miner focused on the Central West of New South Wales. After developing and operating the Peak Hill gold mine from 1996 to 2005, Alkane made a new gold discovery at Tomingley and this project should commence operations in mid 2013. The Company maintains a very active exploration program in the region resulting in several new discoveries including the 3 million ounce gold deposit at McPhillamys near Orange, in partnership with Newmont.
In parallel, Alkane is advancing the Dubbo Zirconia Project towards production in 2014/2015. This project is based upon a world class zirconium, niobium and rare earth resource and it will be a world first operation including these metals.
