The 57th Sydney Mining Club Meeting

with the support of

AUSENCO and HSBC

Thursday September 5th at 12.30 p.m.

Presents a double-barreled investment highlight with

Kerry Harmanis, CEO – Jubilee Mines & David Moore, CEO – Mincor Resources

“The New Nickel Tigers”

Making nickel for $1 a pound and selling it for $3 is great business and the rapid growth of Jubilee Mins and Mincor Resources is saying this in spades. Previously the preserve of the major companies, “the precious sulphide” nickel has entered a new age with the big players now willingly accepting concentrates from outside sources to compete with their own production. It’s the key that opened the lock – like CIP did for oxide gold deposits in the early 1980’s – a paradigm shift with a new following.

First find or buy a deposit…….Jubilee discovered its high-grade Cosmos Mine north of Leinster in 1997 and Mincor bought the partly developed Miitel, Mariners, Red Ross and Wannaway mines from WMC. The two companies now have market caps of $175M and $45M respectively. Both companies are running keen and mean, with Moore saying Mincor is winning a grade 25% higher than WMC would have as it chases its komatiite-hosted vein systems – and the overheads are lower. Says Harmanis “We started this rush – remember, we are the ‘little companies’ that the nickel laterite guys were going to put out of business”

Others in the League are Canada’s LionOre, Independence Gold, Sally Malay Mining and Titan Resources – which is between mines – and drilling hopeful Valdera Resources. It is an exciting new league and harmanis and Moore are leading the pack.

Don’t miss it! Julian Malnic

The Forum is held at the Tattersalls Club at 181 Elizabeth St, Sydney (adjoining the Sheraton on the Park). There has been a relaxation of dress rules at the Tattersalls Club so ties and jackets are no longer required.

Thank you for supporting your Sydney Mining Club and for your interest in the current affairs and issues that drive our industry.

Dear Sydney Mining Clubbers,

Many ‘members’ will pay $35 this month instead of their usual $30 reflecting the new schedule for charges in this flyer. Because – at least for now – the Sydney Mining Club uses a virtual membership, where people who have attended once automatically become members, we are removing the differing charges for ‘members’ and ‘non-members’ and replacing it with a flat $35 charge. If the additional cost represents a significant imposition to you, you need only let Sharon know in a return e-mail and you can stay with the $30 ‘concession’ rate. All students remain at $10 so you should remind your student friends of this. I can assure you we are working hard to minimise the cost of your forum lunches.

At some time in the future we may move to a formal membership arrangement for the Sydney Mining Club so if you have any friends and colleagues to add to our ‘virtual membership list’, that is our e-mail list, now is the time to send their name and e-mail address to Sharon.

Regards,

Julian Malnic.
