TOPIC: “PORGERA UPDATE” The Porgera gold project in Papua New Guinea was commissioned in September 1990, and in 1991 produced over 1.2 million oz from the underground operation. Work is well advanced for commissioning of Stage 3 of the project which will include a major increas in concentrator capacity and initial open pit production. John has been Chief Geologist at Porgera since 1988, and consequently is well qualified to present an update on this exciting project.
