TOPIC:”The Mineral Potential of Oman.” The talk will cover a wide range of topics including; an overview of Oman, previous exploration and mining history, new exploration techniques, general geology of the Omani Ophiolite and mineralisation, mineral resources potential, mining regulations and how to do business in Oman.
Wilson Gewargis is an economic geologist with world-wide experience in exploration and mining geology. He worked from 1995-97 as Vice President of Exploration and Development with a Canadian resource company in Oman and has worked in a wide range of geological environments throughout the world. He played significant roles in the exploration and development of several underground gold and massive sulphide producers in Canada (Brandywine, Scottie Gold, Blackdome Gold, Grandluc Mine (BC) and La Forma Mine (Yukon)).
